Reading Reflection No.2

For this assignment I chose: How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big, Scott Adams
1) What was the general theme or argument of the book?
The theme is seeing and living life from a different perspective. Being able to finesse your way through life and managing to succeed, as stated in the title.
2) How did the book, in your opinion, connect with and enhance what you are learning in ENT 3003?
It definitely enhanced how I view other entrepreneurs, as faking it till you make it is seemingly a consistent thing in the industry.
3) If you had to design an exercise for this class, based on the book you read, what would that exercise involve?
Taking a really crappy product and making a sales pitch based off of it.
4) What was your biggest surprise or 'aha' moment when reading the book? In other words, what did you learn that differed most from your expectations?
The fact that this tactic is so normalized is what surprised me the most. It really taught me to not idolize or put these people on pedestals, cause they be doing the same stuff we do.

  1. Hi Tina! I also read this book for my assignment and I really enjoyed it. I hope you were able to take a lot more away from it other than what you have listed here. I like how you said that it changed your view on other entrepreneurs. It shows that every entrepreneur experiences failure and some are better at hiding it than others. Learning from our failure is the important part. I think it'd be interesting to give a sales pitch off of a random product that we are given. It would definitely be a challenge to see if we are good salesman. Nice job.
