Identifying Opportunities in Economic & Regulatory Trends˘

1. Currently single use plastics are becoming more and more obsolete, especially with Gen Z opposing the use of single use plastics.
(a) where you found it: My every day life.
(b), what leads you to believe that this information suggests an opportunity might exist: When there is a decrease in need or ethical use of one product, there is usually a space left behind.
(c) who do you think is most likely to be the customer with the opportunity (i.e., the prototypical customer): standard human being who goes grocery shopping.
(d) is the opportunity relatively easy or relatively difficult to exploit, and why do you think so: it will probably be more difficult, because there are already products that exist to fill the gap.
(e) Why did I see this opportunity?: I kinda just glanced at my reusable bags and thought 'eh why not'.
2. Due to the newer generations being less likely to commit a lot of money to a car, more and more people are starting to use the public transportation systems.
(a) where you found it: My everyday life.
(b), what leads you to believe that this information suggests an opportunity might exist: If an influx of people need this service and the service is still as outdated before, maybe there is a need there.
(c) who do you think is most likely to be the customer with the opportunity (i.e., the prototypical customer): People who can't afford cars or care about the environment.
(d) is the opportunity relatively easy or relatively difficult to exploit, and why do you think so: Harder, due to how large scale an issue like this is.
(e) Why did I see this opportunity?: I was thinking of needs I have as a college student.
3. There are always new regulatory changes in the cannabis industry, laws are becoming more and more lenient.
(a) where you found it: General news media, friends and family who live in states where the laws are loosening.
(b), what leads you to believe that this information suggests an opportunity might exist: People who run dispensaries make an extreme amount of money due to the high demand of the product, however since the regulations are so new, there aren't many dispensaries than there will be years from now. Taking advantage of this opportunity now can lead to steady income in the future.
(c) who do you think is most likely to be the customer with the opportunity (i.e., the prototypical customer): College students, people with chronic illness, people who wanna have fun.
(d) is the opportunity relatively easy or relatively difficult to exploit, and why do you think so: Depends on where you live, in California it is far easier to open a dispensary since recreational use is allowed, it'll be harder in states like New York or Florida where it is only allowed under medical usage.
(e) Why did I see this opportunity?: My friend lives in Cali and regularly visits dispensaries.
4. Currently there are more and more regulatory changes being placed at state levels to combat climate change.
(a) where you found it: Online articles, the news.
(b), what leads you to believe that this information suggests an opportunity might exist: Providing clean energy services or other climate friendly alternatives will be in higher demand if fossil fuel and single use plastic regulations go up.
(c) who do you think is most likely to be the customer with the opportunity (i.e., the prototypical customer): The standard US citizen.
(d) is the opportunity relatively easy or relatively difficult to exploit, and why do you think so: Difficult, as there are already companies in place profiting off of the change in regulation, seeing as it's been a slow progress.
(e) Why did I see this opportunity?:  I care about our climate, so I looked into it.
