Bug List
1. The battery life of apple watches. I shouldn't have to charge my watch every four hours, it's a waste of time.
Why?: The size of the device probably doesn't allow for a large enough battery.
2. Popeyes Drive Thru's take way too long for the product. Waiting 30 minutes for a few chicken strips is not worth the wait.
Why?: They are definitely understaffed with workers who definitely aren't being paid enough.
3. The standard size of iPhone chargers (the ones that come with the product) is far too short and makes it impossible to use your phone comfortably while it's charging.
Why?: The production cost would go up for Apple and they would probably have to up the price of any brand new iPhone (out of the box).
4. The YouTube algorithm doesn't notify or show me the videos my favorite Youtubers, so I usually end up missing a bunch of uploads. If the creator doesn't get views, they don't have incentive to upload, so if their views drop due to YouTube's algorithm, they'll stop producing media altogether.
Why?: Some of these videos might not be considered 'family friendly', and with the new branding Youtube is going for eliminates the exposure for less 'appropriate' creators. Especially since Youtube runs off of ads and outside funding.
5. When you move homes (this is not universal however this happened to me and a handful of others) and change your address with your wifi provider and reconnect your router, the wifi connection gets far worse. Instead of fixing the issue, the IT department offered to charge me more for upgraded gigs.
Why?: This is a way for them to make extra money, even if it is only an additional ten dollars a month, the profits add up.
6.Snacks at movie theaters are far too expensive. I shouldn’t have to pay thirty dollars for popcorn and a soda.
Why?: No one really goes to movie theaters anymore unless there’s a premier for a major film so they probably amp up the prices to compensate.
7.College textbook prices are insanely expensive, especially when you buy them through the schools bookstore.
Why?: Colleges take in a profit to keep their school running, though some of these costs are extremely unnecessary.
8.Apartment complexes that have pest problems and despite the fact that various residents complain, all they do is slap a few traps down and assume that’s enough.
Why?: The management is incompitent.
9.Lays chip bags are like 20% chip and 80% air. I’m wasting my money on air.
Why?: Whatever they fill the bags with preserves the chips, I’d rather get a full bag and eat it quick though.
10.Vinyl records are insanely expensive nowadays, at least 30 dollars for a lower end record, for more popular albums it can go upwards of eighty dollars.
Why?: Records are not the main form of media consumption nowadays so naturally the price would hike up.
11.People who go to coffee shops to ‘study’ but just end up being loud with their friends and disrupting the entire shop.
Why?: They’re probably just procrastinating on work and wanna hang out with their friends.
12.People who bring their babies on planes, especially when those babies cry for every single second of said flight.
Why?: There is no other option for them, whether it be a lack of babysitter or the child needs to be brought for a family event.
13.The fact that I have to buy into three different streaming services just to see the bare minimum of shows I love, seeing as no single streaming service has a good selection.
Why?: Getting the rights to every single show that exists is impossible, though Netflix can up their game on the quality of the shows they offer.
14.The fact that Netflix only offers some titles in certain countries and restricts American titles from American Netflix. I wanna watch Brooklyn Nine-Nine (offered on every Netflix except for the American one) without having to buy a VPN.
Why?: Copyright laws vary based on the country you’re streaming from.
15.Dorm rooms are far too small and low in quality for the outrageous price that is being asked.
Why?: Mainly due to location, the fact that dorms are on campus the school is able to amp up houses.
16.Not being able to burn candles in dorms is irritating, especially when the building smells horrible and aerosol sprays are weak.
Why?: The university assumes that grown adults don’t know how to blow out a candle at night. Which makes sense for some people who don’t think before they act, but I want my room to smell like Seabreeze.
17.Student discounts are hyped up in media and by companies, when in reality if there is a good deal for students its very rare and most of the ‘deal’s offered are more of a scam preying off of financially unstable students than an actual deal.
Why?: Companies have to make a quick cash grab somehow.
18.When Netflix cancelled all the Marvel originals, especially the Punisher. These were the main reasons why I even had a Netflix subscription to begin with.
Why?: Disney did launch their own streaming service a few months ago, a lot of people have theorized that the originals will be revamped on their streaming service.
19.Womens razors are trash. They hardly work in comparison to mens razors and only could realistically appeal to women with little to no hair. Not to mention I am spending so much more for a product to come in pink.
Why?: ‘Gentle’ products are usually marketed towards women and companies will use this to up prices while developing low end products.
20.Cereal that gets soggy after five seconds in the bowl. I turn to go look at my phone and by the time I look back I have oatmeal. Gross.
Why?: The ingredients probably aren’t the highest quality.
Reflection:
Overall I can tell I have a lot of things I complain about, however towards the end I definitely dwindled, name dropped Netflix three times and then complained about soggy cereal. Despite being a person who complains about a lot of stupid things, 20 is a way bigger number than I anticipated. A lot of my issues can be chalked up to cooperations abusing the customers need and making an excess of money.
First off, I LOVE the layout of your blog. It's very intriguing and made me excited to read. Cute cat by the way. I completely agree with the apple watch battery life being one of the shortest ever. It's very frustrating. Movie theaters definitely charge ridiculously high prices and so I usually sneak some snacks in my purse. The loud coffee shop "study group" really got me. This has happened to me countless times. Needless to say, I think you did an awesome job with this assignment.
